Meet Your Newest Team Member: Setting Up Your First AI Voice Agent in EZtransition

Ready to have your phones answered 24/7 without lifting a finger? In our latest tutorial, we’re diving into the future of customer service by building your very first AI Voice Agent within EZtransition.

This "Simple Setup" is designed to get your bot up and running in minutes. Here is how to get started:


Step 1: Create Your Agent

Head over to the AI Agents tab in your dashboard, select Voice AI, and click Create Agent. Choose the Custom Agent option to begin the initial configuration.

Step 2: Choose a Name and Voice

Darren’s pro tip? Pick a unisex name so you have the flexibility to switch between male and female voices later without confusing your recurring callers.

  • Naming: Give your bot a clear name (like "Sam" or "Jesse") followed by EZtransition.

  • Voice Selection: You can filter by language, accent (like American), and gender. Find a voice that matches your brand’s personality!

Step 3: Set the Scene (Inbound & Time Zones)

Accuracy is key. Ensure your Time Zone is set correctly—this allows your agent to answer questions about your opening hours accurately.

Next, craft your Intro Statement. This is the first thing a caller hears. You can even use custom tags to make it personal:

"Hi [Contact First Name], thanks for calling EZtransition!"

Step 4: Add the Brain (Knowledge Base)

To make your agent smart, you'll connect it to a Knowledge Base you’ve already predefined. This gives the bot the data it needs to answer questions about your business. For this basic setup, the bot acts as a "data collection bar," gathering the caller's name and issue.

Step 5: Routing & Notifications

Decide how you want the bot to handle your lines:

  • Default vs. Backup: You can set the bot to be the primary answerer or only jump in if you don't pick up.

  • Summaries: You can have a call summary sent automatically to your email as soon as the bot hangs up.
